Our family dined at Peking City on August 1 to celebrate our family reunion. We all grew up going to Chinese restaurants. So it was delightful to enjoy delicious Chinese food in a warm and inviting place with the best service ever. There were about 35 of us besides other guests who were dining there and the staff was remarkable in serving us in such a timely manner. Thank you, Peking City! The Woo-Dierdorff Family

I'm rating as a take-out customer only and consider "atmosphere" to be how the place tends to make me feel when I consider ordering from it since I never have dined inside. Portions are generous, but the white rice leaves a lot to be desired and is clearly not high quality rice even if it is cooked correctly, which it typically is. I'm assuming that's what makes it so the quantity of food is so generous. Be aware this restaurant does not take the extra 5 seconds to read your order back to make sure they heard you correctly so miscommunications are likely unless you take that measure yourself. Last night I had friends from out of town all meeting up for the night and I ordered us carryout for them to pick up on the way to my place. I ordered a dish for the vegetarian friend and because the woman who took my order misheard me say "chicken" (but never repeated the order so I had no idea, she just said ok 10 minutes and gave me an order number) my friend paid for and picked up the food (when he paid he didn't remember the order number I told him but he knew we had ordered tofu for him so he verified that way, he said "I know there's sesame tofu in the order" and they handed him the b

After a long meeting in Virginia Beach and looking for a great Chinese restaurant. Peking City was a perfect choice. I had the whole restaurant to myself. I had the a cup of wonton soup and Happy Delight (shrimp, scallops, beef and chicken) I asked them to make it spicy. I also had wonton soup and it was very flavorful. I didn't have to add soy sauce for flavor. It was really great flavor. The Happy Delight was super delicious! All ingredients were packed with flavor! My dish came with fried rice which was perfectly cooked. The menu prices are very reasonable. The restaurant was super busy with take out orders and that's why I was the only dine customer. That being said, my food came quick and was beautiful plated. The atmosphere was on the dull side and super quiet. There was no traditional Chinese music playing. The restaurant has very nice decor and very spacious. Peking City restaurant is located in a shopping center and there is plenty of parking spaces. I recommend 👌 Enjoy 😉

I really like this place. I've actually been coming here for over 30 years. I just realized today. It's always been a go to for lunch. It's a nice quaint atmosphere.The service is good and some of the food is good. Recently I stop in every once in a while for lunch. Their quality is really lacking in a couple of areas which would be easy for them to fix. If you order the chicken wraps, the last time I was there, I ordered them, and the lettuce was all white and red old lettuce, and they looked at me like I was crazy when I said, bring me some fresh lettuce. Today the 2 pieces of lettuce on top were fine, underneath were the old white and red lettuce. Ridiculous. Like they think the customer won't notice. Really? The chef wants to use old vegetables. I also got a lunch hunan chicken to bring home. The mushrooms are as old as they can be. The black you see in my photographs is the mushroom black nearly inedible. In fact, they're concerning to eat. This is because they won't use fresh vegetables, they want to serve all their old vegetables. The chef really should be ashamed of himself and it probably should be inspected. Stop using your old vegetables that should go in the garbage!!

As much as we like to indulge in Chinese Cuisine and it had a great atmosphere service was pleasant but food was subpar. My wife did not enjoy. One of the people in my party was insulted by a local because they claim she had a elbow in the table messing up our experience during dining.
